SACHIE’S STIR FRY BEEF & VEGGIES WITH OYSTER SAUCE
This recipe is great for time-poor people who want to have a quick one wok dish at home. The key for this dish is to have all the ingredients ready before you turn on the wok!
INGREDIENTS |

150gm boneless top sirloin steak, thinly sliced |
2 teaspoons corn starch |
1 teaspoon soy sauce |
2 clove of garlic, sliced |
1 small knob of ginger, julienned |
2 cups of mixed vegetables (onion, broccoli, baby corn, capsicum, snow peas) |
50gm of mix mushrooms |
¹/₂ can water chestnuts, drain and sliced (optional) |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
Sauce |
3 tablespoons oyster sauce |
1 teaspoon brown sugar |
¹/₂ teaspoon red chilli flakes |
Pinch white pepper |
2 tablespoons water |
DIRECTIONS
Mix sliced beef with soy sauce and corn starch in a bowl and set aside.
In a small bowl, add the oyster sauce, sugar, red chilli flakes, white pepper, water and mix well. Set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for approximately 3 minutes. Remove beef and reserve.
Place the same wok over the high heat and add another tablespoon of oil. Add the garlic and ginger, cook for a minute or until fragrant.
Add the mix vegetables, mushrooms, water chestnuts (if using) to the wok, and stir-fry for approximately 3 minutes and return the beef to the wok. Give a quick stir and add the sauce mix. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes and serve with steamed rice or cooked noodles. Enjoy!
